The MRC Nursery is designed to minister to newborn children until age 4. It is our desire to have a room that is safe and clean for children as well to establish an atmosphere of laughter and love for young children that they may experience the love of Christ through our volunteers caring for them. Our goal is to give parents confidence that their precious children are being cared for safely by trustworthy and caring volunteers. We believe every child that enters our care can experience the love of God through the nursery ministry.

Children’s church for those kids 4 years old through 1st grade, this group meets every Sunday during morning worship in the basement from September - May. Each week, the kids:

• Listen to leaders read a Bible story

• Participate in a devotional helping the kids to better understand the story

• Create a craft

• Do an activity with a focus on that week’s lesson

• Work on a Bible verse to accompany the lesson

Immediately following the Sunday morning service and Kids of Light, kids 3 years old to 5th grade gather to sing songs. Periodically, they will sing for the congregation at a Sunday morning service.

A Wednesday night program for children 4 years old through 5th grade, Big D.O.G.S. is a great midweek opportunity for children to:

• Learn God’s word

• Play games

• Make crafts

• Eat snacks

• Have fun!

This program meets every other week Fall through Spring. Check the calendar for more info on dates and times.

All kids 4 years old through 6th grade are invited to join us for VBS June 19-22, 2023. “Stellar VBS”. We will learn a new Bible story each day, make crafts, play games, eat snacks, sing songs and do science experiments.

The focus of the Junior High ministry is fun, growth and fellowship. This group typically meets every other Sunday evening from 6-7:30PM in the youth room from September - May.

A typical evening includes a relevant lesson, food, games and fun!

Throughout the youth group season, different fun events are sprinkled in:

• Craig’s Cruisers/Snow Tubing/Sky Zone/Bounce

• Hayrides

• Bonfires

• Scavenger Hunts

We also make a point to give of our time. We volunteer through various activities:

• Helping out at Kalamazoo Gospel Mission

• Collecting food for local shelters

• Other work projects

One of the most special times for the kids happens every April. The group heads up to Grace Adventures for a weekend retreat packed full of high ropes courses, zip lining, horseback riding, paintball, archery, etc.

There are also multiple sessions full of music and relevant lessons for today’s teens.

This group meets every Sunday evening (except any 5th Sunday in a month) from September - May. Please see the calendar to see more info on time and locations.

These meetings include the entire group and occur twice a month in the youth room at church. Typically these meetings typically involve games, food, fun and a relevant topic for today’s teens.

Alternating with the regular meetings, the Girls and Guys breakout into their own small groups for more specific lessons. As always, food and fun are had as well.

Every other year, a week long mission trip is scheduled for the whole group. The kids work hard to raise funds for the trips which have gone to locations such as Kentucky, New York and Virginia. There may also be mini-mission trips (more local) scheduled during the off years.

In addition to the regular scheduled meetings, the group will also mix in great activities such as:

• Service projects for the elderly or needy

• Adopting a family for Christmas

• Weekend camping retreats

• Convention style outings

• Road Rallies

• Hayrides

• Bowling

• Skiing

• Paintballing

• Sky Zone

• Corn Mazes

• Craig’s Cruisers

• Lock Ins

Our Sunday School classes meet weekly after the morning service from 10:45-11:30AM during the months of September - May. We’ve got class offerings for all ages. Please join us!

While it varies from class to class, Sunday School activities include:

• Bible Stories

• Crafts

• Snacks

• Memory Verses

Each year for a weekend in August, the church reserves the entire campground at SON-Life Camp & Retreat Center from Thursday - Sunday. A time that has no lack of fun and fellowship, you can expect activities such as:

• Campsite themes

• Fishing contests

• Crafting

• Blobbing!

• Saturday night potluck

• Sunday morning campsite service lead by Pastor Mark

Located between the sanctuary and friendship area, the MRC Library offers books, reference materials and other media to provide recreation and inspiration for personal spiritual growth.

Come join us in the gym from 7-9PM on Tuesday nights October-March for some fellowship and free exercise.

Join with other brothers and sisters in Christ every Wednesday at 4PM in the narthex area for a time of prayer.

A newer offering, Pickleball players of all levels are welcome to join in fellowship and fun in the gym every Thursday evening from 6:30-9PM during the winter months.

A group of avid knitters, crocheters and blanket makers who give their artwork to the needy and hurting.

Regular meetings occur at 11:30AM, the 4th Friday of the month in the Spring (March-June) and the Fall (September-December).

Each meeting begins with a Bible Study led by Pastor Mark and concludes with a delicious meal and fellowship.

Each fall a list of MRC college students is available for sponsoring. Congregation members are given their address and information in order to send them letters and gifts of encouragement throughout the school year.

Come join us every Monday night, 7-8:30PM, in the gym for a time of fellowship and fun while mixing in a little volleyball.
